These are the finalists in the 2008 Tournament of Books. And the winner: The Brief Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz. I haven't really looked at either of these books. I'll have to check them out next time I'm at the bookstore. Please comment if anyone has read them!

Ooh, I have to check these out! I'm reading What The Dead Know right now, but I'll have to look into the winner so I can decide if I'm annoyed it beat Then We Came To The End, which was AWESOME. Oscar Wao was on my list of to-get-once-it's-in-paperback. I was intrigued, but not $25 intrigued :)
