A New Contest!

I was just sitting here doing my morning blog reading on the computer, when it hit me! It's Tuesday! Contest time!

It's actually Tuesday, October 14th, which is the official publication date for Katherine Neville's The Fire!

I have a copy of The Eight and an ARC of The Fire that we are giving away here this week! My reviews are here and here, respectively.

To enter the contest, do one or all of the following:
1. Leave a comment saying you would like to be entered.

2. Answer these questions for one bonus entry each:
a. Do you play chess?
b. What adult adventure/treasure books or authors do you recommend to other readers?

3. Post about this contest, leaving me the link in your comment and receive THREE extra entries!

Post your comments by Sunday, October 19th, 11:59pm Central Standard time.

Hi
I would love to be entered.

Ok, my answers now.
I used to play chess. No honestly when I was young, I used to play with my dad. Then with my sisters. But somewhere along the way, I lost interest for it. After coming home from work I didn't want to sit in front of a chess board and rack my brain.

I have read quite a few YA novels, but none of the authors have stuck with me.
But I love Nancy Drew's even now.

Good Morning--
I would love to be entered. No, I have never played chess. I don't think I have the concentration span for it. I also still love Nancy Drew novels.

I'd love to be entered!

I don't play chess. I know the rudiments of the game, but I'm just not very good, and I don't really like being totally obliterated.

I'd like to be entered.

My boyfriend taught me how to play chess and I only beat him once. I think he let me win.

I blogged about it:

I would love to be entered. And no I do not play chess. As for adventure writers I’m a fan of Clive Cussler. I also read a book by Steve Berry that was really good and plan to read more of his.

Please enter me!

To answer your question - yes I do play chess, though not as well as my ten year old son who's quite good. And, as for adventure stories, I really like Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy (Cussler more so than Clancy). But, I am a sucker for good kid lit adventure books, too. I've been listening to Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson books on my iPod lately, and they're really good fun.

I used to play chess when I was young, too. It must be something about having more time when one is young.

My favorite action authors are Brandon Mull, Cornelia Funke, Barry and Pearson and Riordan.

I like to enter.

a) I played chess before but I was/am terrible at it. I think I fare a whole lot better with checkers.

b) I like to recommend Anthony Horowitz. I read his books for children while growing up and they were great. His Alex Rider series is fabulous and I think I have reread the series for a number of times now.

I would love to be entered in this contest!

Unfortunately I have never learned how to play chess.

Currently my favorite adventure/treasure author is Douglas Preston.

Thanks!

I would like to be entered in the contest very much!

I don't play chess because I've forgotten how. When I first starting dating my husband he taught me but then we stopped playing and we had only played a few times so I can't remember. My son and my husband have played though and I'm so envious.

I think Dan Brown writes some pretty fun adventure books. I have three of them so far!

Entry #2: I do not play chess.
When you asked about Adult treasure, I thought of MJ Rose's book "The Reincarnasionist" (sorry I butchered that name!)....that was like treasure hunt!
